Description
ARC technical coordination group members and invited persons

13 October 2026, 14:00 - 15:00

Present: Ievgen, Balazs, Lars, Anders, Aleksandr, Maiken, Oxana

News

  • Nightlies are failing, to be discussed later
  • ARC and BOINC are mentioned by ATLAS as possible front-ends for future HPCs
  • DC27 is getting more detailed, see https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1QodIIOLOlMKqzU6PWVV-m172YJeNR3ph7IWOnNuttTY/edit?slide=id.h60bfa0ff5eaee7de_0_46#slide=id.h60bfa0ff5eaee7de_0_46 , everything will be tokens-based
  • Work ongoing between Lars, Gasper and Aleksandr on fixing data management issues, reviewing patches
  • A procedure for turning off ARCHERY record update is needed; at the moment it seems that nothing uses it

Bugs

Some discussion of the report from a user group that still needs site-BDII, which stopped working in 7.2.0. Inconclusive.

Testing

Systematic functional tests are needed in addition to unit tests on builds, before release, as a part of deployment testing.

Issue tracking

Status of the ongoing discussion is summarised. There's a general leaning towards gitlab.com hosting, as it saves effort. Risk management needs to be done, with a backup plan - coderefinery can be a part of this plan. The Github mirror can be removed once everything is migrated.
