24–28 May 2027 · Preliminary programme

Social programme

Time together beyond the lecture room is part of the symposium.

The residential format creates opportunities to continue scientific conversations over meals and meet colleagues working in other fields. These arrangements are preliminary; the timetable gives current times.

Monday 24 May · Welcome to Lund and Bäckaskog

An opening reception and university welcome are planned in Lund in the afternoon. Participants then travel together to Bäckaskog, where a welcome dinner begins the residential meeting.

Tuesday and Wednesday · Shared dinners

Dinners follow the scientific programme. Wednesday’s early-career forum takes place before dinner, with short presentations, questions and feedback.

Thursday 27 May · Group photograph and banquet

A group photograph and optional walk are planned after the final thematic session, followed by the symposium banquet. The banquet location and practical details will be confirmed closer to the meeting.

Friday 28 May · Lund and the public lecture

After the scientific closing and lunch, the group returns to Lund. An optional visit to ESS or MAX IV is being explored; the facility, availability and arrangements are unconfirmed.

The public lecture “What is Entropy?” by Constantino Tsallis is planned for Friday afternoon, followed by questions from the audience.

Practical arrangements

Meal attendance, dietary requirements and accompanying-person requests will be collected through participant logistics. Individual participation information will specify included services and any separately arranged costs.

The NOBEL SYMPOSIA mark is owned by the Nobel Foundation.
